Leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan have congratulated Emomali Rahmon on his victory in the November 6 presidential election, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, in particular, noted that in his cable of congratulations that “the election results show that the whole people of Tajikistan supports your domestic and foreign policy.”
Chinese leader stressed that the current year is the beginning of strategic partnership between China and Tajikistan.
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev noted in his message of congratulations that Rahmon’s victory in the election was an indication of a high confidence of the people of Tajikistan in him and his policy aimed at maintaining stability and improving wellbeing of the population.
Uzbek President Islam Karimov noted in his cable of congratulations that he was convinced that Rahmon’s activity would promote further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Tajik relations, based on historical commonality and principles of neighborliness and mutual respect, in the future as well.
President Emomali Rahmon yesterday had telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
Russian and Afghan leaders reportedly congratulated Emomali Rahmon on his landslide victory in the 2013 presidential election and expressed confidence that high confidence of the people of Tajikistan in their president was earned by his service for prosperity of the country and wellbeing of his people.
