Tajikistan’s savings bank officially opens a new building of its branch in Bokhtar

Tajikistan’s savings bank, Amonatbonk, has officially opened a new building of its branch in the Bokhtar district, Khatlon province.

According to the Amonatbonk press center, the ceremony was attended by Amonatbonk chairperson Gulnora Hasanova, Khatlon deputy governor Rajabali Rajabov and Bokhtar head Abdualim Ismoilov.

A technical transfer to the national payment system, Korti Milli, was held on sidelines of an official opening of the new building in Bokhtar.

Like other branches of Tajikistan’s savings bank, Amonatbobnk’s branch in Bokhtar also serves pensioners.

The branch in Bokhtar reportedly serves 15,327 pensioners through an electronic pension payment system.

312,512 people are now holders of bank plastic cards emitted by Amonatbonk; 277,783 of them are pensioners.

Amonatbonk is the only state-owned bank.  It is one of the oldest in Tajikistan (established in 1925) and one of the largest based upon various criteria - including the number of branches and the number of served clients.  The institution is unique in its orientation towards implementing social, pension and other state programs.  Amonatbonk has 5 regional centers, more than 70 branches and nearly 500 agencies. This gives the institution a presence in the most remote mountainous parts of the country.
